Birthright’s debut EP is another gem of the sound of the 90’s. Everything about these songs is archetypal. In ideology it is unbridled, teeming with anger, charged with defiance, unafraid, unabashed. In sound it is kinetic, it propels the ideas it carries and gives them flight; a quality any revolutionary entity should have. It’s less of a crossover than most 90’s bands, it feels and it sounds more hardcore, while still retaining metallic elements of the sound. It combines the crushing chugged guitars of Destroy the Machines with the dynamic punk and hardcore assault of Best Wishes, making it a classic example of 90’s hardcore.
